Megacubo guides

Six guides, with the steps that are in the project's own documentation and in the installer of the application. Install on your system, add the playlist, switch the programme guide on — and remove the application when you no longer need it. Each one also says what usually goes wrong, because that is where most of the questions come from.

Start here

How to add an M3U playlist

The application brings no channel at all: the first step is always your playlist. Four steps, from the My Lists menu to the channels showing up

Open the guide

How to configure the programme guide (EPG)

The EPG is an XML file with the schedule. It is associated with a playlist, and then it appears per channel

Open the guide

Install by system

Windows 10 and 11

The installer-downloader from the official site (x64, x86 and ARM64), portable mode and what to do when the antivirus complains

Open the guide

Linux

Installation in one command, or manually from the GitHub Releases packages, with the uninstaller in the same place

Open the guide

Android TV and TV boxes

The APK from the official site, the permissions the application asks for and why installing over an old version sometimes needs a removal first

Open the guide

Uninstall, on any system

The removal route of each platform and of each Linux format, what the uninstaller of the Windows build takes with it, and why the licence is not cancelled

Open the guide

Something did not work

A playlist that does not load, buffering, an EPG that does not sync: three likely causes and the test that confirms the fix

The steps in these guides are the ones in the project's documentation (Megacubo docs), checked on 2026-09-25. If the interface changes in a new version, the guide is rewritten — and the release notes show what changed.

Frequently asked questions

Where do the steps in these guides come from?

From the project's own documentation, written by the people who maintain the application, and the date it was checked is printed on every guide. If the interface changes in a new version, the guide is rewritten — no step here is invented.

Do the guides need the Premium license?

No. Adding playlists, watching live TV and radio, reading the programme guide and using the miniplayer are free on every platform. The optional Premium license only comes into recording, VOD downloads, scheduled recordings and casting to the TV.

Does Megacubo come with channels or ready-made playlists?

It ships with no playlist at all: the playlist is always yours, or the community's, when you agree to take part in community mode. Without a playlist added, the application shows no channel — which is why the first guide on this page exists.
