An M3U/IPTV player — what it is and where it runs
Megacubo is a player: it opens the playlists and streams you provide. What provides the content is your M3U playlist — the app does not sell, bundle or host channels. It runs on Windows, Linux, macOS and Android with the same program underneath; what changes is the package format and the way you install it.

- Does — plays M3U playlists, live TV, radio and video on demand; keeps bookmarks, the EPG guide and history
- Does — records and casts to TV, with the optional Premium license
- Does not — does not include or endorse channel lists: the playlist is yours, or comes from community sources
- Does not — does not sell subscriptions, channel packages or trials

What changes from one system to another
- Desktop in general
- Where recording and casting make most sense: local files, a miniplayer on top of other windows and keyboard shortcuts
- Windows
- Installer with its own updater — the app keeps itself updated once installed
- Linux
- Packages per release, without an installer: you pick AppImage, Snap or Flatpak
- macOS
- Builds for Apple Silicon and Intel; the app is not signed, so the system asks for a confirmation on first launch
- Android and TV
- APK format, installed outside the stores; navigation works with a remote control on Android TV and TV boxes
Frequently asked questions
Is Megacubo a player or an IPTV service?
It is a player. It opens the M3U playlists and streams that you or the community provide, and it does not sell, bundle or host channels or playlists.
Which system should I choose?
Megacubo runs on Windows, Linux, macOS and Android, with the same app underneath. Choose the system you will watch on: the desktop records and casts best, and Android TV is the one that sits in the living room television.
Do I need the Premium license to use the player?
No. Watching live TV and radio is free and open source on every platform; the license adds recording, VOD downloads, scheduled recordings and casting to TV.
