Adult content in Megacubo

Megacubo is a player, and it ships with no channel and no list of its own. Adult content shows up only when the playlist you added contains it — and the filter that hides it comes enabled when the application is installed.

This is the page the old addresses of this subject lead to. What the application is, where the content comes from, how the filter works, and where the download is.

In one sentence: the project publishes the player; the content comes from the lists you or the community provide, and the filter decides what the player shows from them.

Download the player

Nothing here requires an account, and the application does not ask for one.

Where the adult content comes from

The application is installed empty of content: it has no channel, no playlist and no subscription. What you watch is what your list contains — an M3U/M3U8 playlist of your provider or of the community — and the app is the program that reads it.

That is why nothing on this page promises a catalogue: whatever a list carries is what appears, and a list that carries nothing shows nothing. The player is free and open source (GPL-3.0), it has been distributed since 2008, and it does not sell, bundle or host TV content.

The filter that comes on

The adult content filter is enabled on installation. It works on the names in the list: it hides the entries whose names match the keywords it carries, which is how a third-party list stops showing up in the middle of a search for the news.

It is a filter, not a lock: it asks for no password and it is not a parental control with a PIN. Turning it off takes four clicks, and turning it back on takes the same ones.

How to allow the content

  1. Open Megacubo
  2. Go to Options > Adult content
  3. Click Allow
  4. Click Back twice to return to the main screen
  5. Search or browse the categories: the content is now listed

To hide it again, the same screen has Remove. The list of blocked words lives in Options > Security > Adult content, where terms can be added separated by commas.

The default state of the filter and the download addresses follow the safety and privacy and facts and specifications pages, checked on 2026-09-30. The filter itself is described in detail on the adult content page.

Frequently asked questions

Does Megacubo come with adult channels?

No. The application ships with no list, no channel and no subscription of its own: it is a player. Adult content appears only when the list you added contains it.

Is the adult content filter on by default?

Yes. The filter is enabled when the application is installed, and it hides the entries whose names match its keywords. Options > Adult content > Allow shows them again, and clicking Remove hides them.

Do I need the Premium licence to allow that content?

No. The filter is part of the free application. The Premium licence only adds recording, downloads, scheduled recordings and casting, and it never limits the free application.

Where is Megacubo downloaded from?

For Windows and Android, from megacubo.tv; for Linux and macOS, from the GitHub Releases page. The source code is public under GPL-3.0 and the addresses are the ones on this page.
